Petra University (PU) was founded in 2013 as a nonprofit religious institution with the purpose of training church leaders and ministers in their chosen areas and in their personal lives via the application of a conservative Christian reformed faith. The founder and President of Petra University is Dr. Jeoung H. Kim, who felt a strong calling from the Lord to empower His church to be well equipped through education, so that they may “give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15).
